Much has been written about how women are more engaged in social media sharing than men. But what motivates a woman to share? Simply put, why does SheShare?
We spoke with almost 4,000 U.S. women who are socially active, both online and offline, and asked them why they share. Several key themes emerged and are more fully explored in the SheShares study:
1. Women share for altruistic reasons i.e., they want to help others with useful information
2. Social posts are as influential as TV in terms influencing women
3. Content, not couponing is the top reason for sharing online.
4. Social women are listeners, not just talkers
5. Women use different tools to share different types of content.
